Petanque club now open
Opening Times:
The club meets on Tuesday and Sunday afternoons at 2pm and members can have use of the facility at any other time.
Fees:
2025 Fee is £65
This includes Social Membership of the Bowling Club, and entitles non Bowling Club members to have a key to the gates and bowls pavilion, and to play Petanque.
There is an additional £10 membership fee for existing (full and social) members of the Bowling Club.
Play:
At present we have 2 Petanque rinks. We can accommodate 3 rinks if numbers require an additional rink. The game is played as singles, pairs or triples, so each rink has a maximum of 6 players at any time.
In teams of one and two, each player plays with 3 boules and in teams of three, each player plays with two boules. The team that reaches 13 points first wins.
We have yet to work out whether a booking system will be necessary. To begin with, if people are waiting for a rink, the players on the rink would give up the rink at the end of their game, and wait for the next available rink….and so on.
