visitors and has resulted in a few new members. Thanks to all who helped deliver
leaflets locally
(August 2010)
The final game in the Glasgow League Division 3 on
Thursday 19th August saw us in bottom position, but our two teams were
successful and the five points gained enabled us to dodge 'the drop'.
We ended bottom of the Kelvin Allander league this season,
but the seniors won the Kelvin Allander Seniors' League, so we don't know
whether to celebrate or not!
(August 28 2010) Finals Day

championship was fought out between two former winners -Eddie Humphries and

The President's prize went to Gordon Smith who defeated
Gerry Carter after a tight match.
Alistair Craig defeated Jim Gilchrist for the Vice
President's prize, and Frank Kennedy beat Walter Irvine in the 'over 65s'- both
claim to be lying about their age.
In the closest finish of the day, Bill Milroy and Bill
Taylor came from 9-1 behind in the Pairs to force an extra end (which they
won) against Tom Turkington and Malky McLachlan .
September 4th Reserve Finals Day
During the week, Frank Kennedy defeated Tom Turkington in
the Talbot Crobie final, and Saturday
saw
the Triples Final with Arthur Dalley, Malky McLachlan and Tom Turkington
defeating Jack McLachlan, Jim Dempster and Tom Hamilton. Tom Turkington (the old
master, as I think I heard him referred to) appeared in four finals this year,
and finally won one.
The under 65 final resulted in a win for George McLaughlin
over President Tom Welsh, who was runner up for the second week running; but at
least he made the finals!
