The club has around 70 gents and 30 lady members. A new
Constitution was introduced in 2013 which welcomed ladies as full and equal members. The fees in 2022 are £150
for full members and £30 for non playing members, although special rates may be
available for new members.
We would be delighted to see junior members joining the Club, but we seem to be struggling against an image of bowls as suitable only for the aged and infirm. Where do they get that idea??? Especially as our Club Champion in 2008 was 17, and the gents champion in 2013 was the youngest member of the club. Local schoolchildren were given the opportunity to try the game in 2014 (see History section)
Most top bowlers nowadays are under thirty, and nearly every older bowler wishes they had taken it up in their younger days!!
If you consider you belong to the younger generation, come along with your mates and give it a try. You might be pleasantly surprised! Special rates may apply!
